STEMECHANICS

STEMechanics is STEMY’s engineering workshop! We hold after-school sessions to expose elementary school students to engineering principles through fun, hands-on activities. Every workshop has a focus build—currently Rube Goldberg Machines—which let them put their engineering knowledge to work!

STEMechanics is a program dedicated to teaching engineering concepts to underserved students in the Louisville area. We hold a four-week after-school workshop for eementary and middle schoolers to encourage students to pursue this field in the future!

At these workshops, we teach students about new and exciting engineering concepts for application outside of the classroom. Our previous workshop at Atkinson Elementary focused on Rube Goldberg machines, and culminated in students building their own! Workshops have been held at Atkinson Elementary and J-Town, and one is being currently held at Trunnell Elementary!
